Oliver Winery

Happy Summer!     Now that it is officially patio season, I have been wanting to review one of my favorite wineries since I started this blog 5 years ago-Oliver Winery. It is nestled in Bloomington, Indiana and is one of the largest wineries in the U.S. I have been coming here since I was a kid when my uncle worked there part-time while attending Indiana University. I remember him taking us on tours around the winery when we visited and I loved getting those rock candy suckers (which they no longer sell 😞). I vaguely remember meeting the original founder, Bill Oliver, a few times when I was younger.  Ownership changed a few years back, though Bill is still a board member. One of things he was passionate about was ballooning, and he got my uncle into it. The logo has been changed to a hot air balloon, which I love because it plays into the story so well.      The property is absolutely stunning with a garden out front, a waterfall, a large deck and patio, and a pond with benches at th

Wine Bar George

Hello Again!     We are continuing our little set of Disney World posts with one of the restaurants over at Disney Springs.  If you've been to Disney Springs you know the endless amount of restaurant options that are available (there are currently 69). Wine Bar George is known for being one of the top three most popular. It is also my personal favorite. We have been here a couple of times, but this is my first time featuring it in this blog. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner along with a "quick service" walk-up outside (you can see the menus on their website ). We love the evening atmosphere inside the restaurant, so that is what I wanted to highlight.       Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of dim lighting in the evenings, and Wine Bar George delivers the perfect ambiance.  During the day the restaurant has massive windows that bring in the sunlight, but the evening brings in the Florida sunsets and then fades to dark. The lighting is n ot too dark that you c

Little Birdie Wine Nest

Hello Everyone,      My mom and grandma are fans of New Day Cleveland and wanted to take me to Little Birdie Wine Nest after seeing them featured on the show. They were voted Best Wine Shop in Parma and Cleveland. Their shop has coffee and wine flights, boards, pizzas, and desserts along with over 1,000 wines from all over the world. They also host a variety of events such as trivia, crafts, and wine pairings. Those book up fast so if you're interested, you may want to follow them on social media or get their newsletter.I had originally posted a story to social media with a few fun photos while we were there, and got a lot of interest and questions from people. It motivated me to go back and make a post about them.      The shop is located on a small strip mall off Broadview Rd. It has a small boutique feel to it with bakery and gifts in the front, 10 booths and tables in the middle, and an art/event section in the back. If you plan on dining in, head to the register to grab a men

Primanti Bros & DeLuca's Diner

Hey All,       This month is a double feature in Pittsburgh, PA. We were in town for the P!nk concert (which was spectacular, by the way) and decided to hit up two places featured on Man vs. Food: Primanti Bros and DeLuca's Diner. Both are located in the Bar District downtown, but Primanti Bros has expanded to other locations around the state as well. These were both featured on Season 1, Episode 3 of Man vs. Food, but Adam did not do a challenge at either location. They were both his other visits prior to his challenge at Quaker Steak and Lube.       We went to Primanti Bros the first night in town. This is actually my second time going, the first was the Marketplace location downtown years ago. I have a thing for original locations, so this time I insisted on going to the Bar District. It is down a side alley street a little past the fish market. We had to wait outside briefly upon arrival, about 5 minutes, while they waited for some customers to leave and clean the table. The in

Wine Tasting on Kelley's Island

Hello, Sunshine 😎     This summer I have made it a priority to spend as much time as I can on Lake Erie. The water is where I find my center and am the most at peace. One of my favorite things to do is go to the Lake Erie Islands. My favorite is Kelley's Island (visit their site here ). It has such beautiful scenery and has a lot of beaches, glacier grooves, trails, etc...to be explored all over the island. I also love wine tasting and don't do it nearly as much as I would like to, so on this last Kelley's trip I decided to hit up the two wineries on the island: Crooked Tree Vineyard and Kelley's Island Wine Co.      Crooked Tree Vineyard is tucked back from the main road along the island. When you get off the ferry, turn right instead of left (that heads downtown) and the winery is about a mile down the road. They have very short hours so check ahead of time to make sure you don't miss it. We were speaking to a local resident while we were searching for the winer

Bridge Park North Market in Dublin, OH

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day weekend 💗      This post has been a long time in the making. We covered the Bridge Park-Dublin North Market as best we could before I called it quits. It took months for us to try to hit all the food offerings they have and I believe we missed three of them overall. The restaurants are constantly changing and one of the ones we planned on talking about (Fromagerie Bread Bakery) has left. We'll just talk about the ones that are still there. While turnover is always sad, especially when it's a favorite, there's so many food options for there to be something for everyone.       I don't mind the upscale cafeteria-style layout because it feels like a community gathering place. Many of the restaurants have their own style of getting the food to where you are. Some hand out numbers and will come deliver your food to the table when it's ready. Others give you a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready for you to pick it up
