X-Golf

Hello Everyone and Welcome to 2024!     My family has some golfers and they started going to indoor golf simulators in the off-season. Being Ohio, we do have an off-season anywhere from November-March/April. Believe me, I want to golf. I have my own set of clubs and the outfits to make me look like I know what I'm doing. However, I have the patience of Happy Gilmore and about as much experience as he did, minus the ability to hit insanely long drives. They suggested I do some practice with them at these indoor golf simulators, and we tried X-Golf.      X-Golf has you book a tee time on their website . Weekends and evenings are more expensive. It's also cheaper in the summers during golf season, so it's an option if it's a really hot day.  They charge per hour, not by person. Each simulator bay can have up to 6 players and 4 spectators. There is a full service bar with some golf-themed cocktails if you wish, and appetizer type food options. One of the things that makes

Little Birdie Wine Nest

Hello Everyone,      My mom and grandma are fans of New Day Cleveland and wanted to take me to Little Birdie Wine Nest after seeing them featured on the show. They were voted Best Wine Shop in Parma and Cleveland. Their shop has coffee and wine flights, boards, pizzas, and desserts along with over 1,000 wines from all over the world. They also host a variety of events such as trivia, crafts, and wine pairings. Those book up fast so if you're interested, you may want to follow them on social media or get their newsletter.I had originally posted a story to social media with a few fun photos while we were there, and got a lot of interest and questions from people. It motivated me to go back and make a post about them.      The shop is located on a small strip mall off Broadview Rd. It has a small boutique feel to it with bakery and gifts in the front, 10 booths and tables in the middle, and an art/event section in the back. If you plan on dining in, head to the register to grab a men

Cedar Point's Flavors of Halloweekends 2023

Happy Spooky Season!      We are back at Cedar Point for another season of Halloweekends. We tried the featured foods of Flavors of Halloweekends and the Fall themed (alcoholic) drink menu at the Grand Pavilion. While I am ecstatic that Cedar Point granted my wish of Mr. Midnight being the official Halloweekends icon, I was disappointed to see that there was yet again no food list or map of where the featured items are located. We did have to do a lap around the entire park to find them all and come up with a game plan. It's a minor inconvenience if you're a regular who knows where every food location in the park is and where they tend to have the specialty items, but imagine it being someone's first time at the park. It's a lot of wasted time looking around. [ UPDATE: The OnPoint Blog  did post the Flavors of Halloweekends food items and locations on October 8th, the day after we had gone.] This time around, instead of saying if we would or would not order it again,

Primanti Bros & DeLuca's Diner

Hey All,       This month is a double feature in Pittsburgh, PA. We were in town for the P!nk concert (which was spectacular, by the way) and decided to hit up two places featured on Man vs. Food: Primanti Bros and DeLuca's Diner. Both are located in the Bar District downtown, but Primanti Bros has expanded to other locations around the state as well. These were both featured on Season 1, Episode 3 of Man vs. Food, but Adam did not do a challenge at either location. They were both his other visits prior to his challenge at Quaker Steak and Lube.       We went to Primanti Bros the first night in town. This is actually my second time going, the first was the Marketplace location downtown years ago. I have a thing for original locations, so this time I insisted on going to the Bar District. It is down a side alley street a little past the fish market. We had to wait outside briefly upon arrival, about 5 minutes, while they waited for some customers to leave and clean the table. The in

Wine Tasting on Kelley's Island

Hello, Sunshine 😎     This summer I have made it a priority to spend as much time as I can on Lake Erie. The water is where I find my center and am the most at peace. One of my favorite things to do is go to the Lake Erie Islands. My favorite is Kelley's Island (visit their site here ). It has such beautiful scenery and has a lot of beaches, glacier grooves, trails, etc...to be explored all over the island. I also love wine tasting and don't do it nearly as much as I would like to, so on this last Kelley's trip I decided to hit up the two wineries on the island: Crooked Tree Vineyard and Kelley's Island Wine Co.      Crooked Tree Vineyard is tucked back from the main road along the island. When you get off the ferry, turn right instead of left (that heads downtown) and the winery is about a mile down the road. They have very short hours so check ahead of time to make sure you don't miss it. We were speaking to a local resident while we were searching for the winer
