After Hours: Magic Kingdom

Happy Spring!     This is our last post from our February Disney trip which makes me sad. Time goes by so fast and I enjoy reliving the moments when writing these posts. This also means my family will have to deal with me starting to plan our next Disney trip. Something I had been wanting to do was an After Hours night. These evening events usually run early to mid-year on select nights and are a separately ticketed event from a regular park day ticket (you can check the days and prices here ). It just so happened that the available night during our vacation was for Magic Kingdom. Tickets were $175 per person for that night (prices change based on the park and time of year). Yes, I did know the pricing is steep, but I wanted to know if it was worth it for the low wait times for rides, food, and entertainment it boasts.       We had actually decided to do a regular park day at Magic Kingdom, then just stay until 1am to see how much we could get in. You can get into the park starting at

Wine Bar George

Hello Again!     We are continuing our little set of Disney World posts with one of the restaurants over at Disney Springs.  If you've been to Disney Springs you know the endless amount of restaurant options that are available (there are currently 69). Wine Bar George is known for being one of the top three most popular. It is also my personal favorite. We have been here a couple of times, but this is my first time featuring it in this blog. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner along with a "quick service" walk-up outside (you can see the menus on their website ). We love the evening atmosphere inside the restaurant, so that is what I wanted to highlight.       Let me start off by saying I am a big fan of dim lighting in the evenings, and Wine Bar George delivers the perfect ambiance.  During the day the restaurant has massive windows that bring in the sunlight, but the evening brings in the Florida sunsets and then fades to dark. The lighting is n ot too dark that you c

Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine at EPCOT's 2024 International Festival of the Arts

Hello Lovers and Dreamers!      Pardon my Rainbow Connection reference, but as you can see from the title, this post is about the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. This was our first time fully experiencing EPCOT's International Festival of the Arts. In the past, we've gone during Disney Princess Half-Marathon weekend so I could do the races, and the festival was over by then. It usually runs from mid-January until late-February, ending prior to race weekend. The festival itself has art booths, artists, a scavenger hunt, sidewalk art, merchandise, murals, entertainment, and food booths.  Painting a mural     This was also my first EPCOT food festival "passport." Each festival has a passport that gives an overall view of everything listed above, and a breakdown of each food booth with descriptions. (Side note: it says under the booth name where it is located, but the passport does not include a map.) I have been waiting years to attend my first EPCOT festival, so my

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Hello Everyone and Laissez les bons temps rouler!     I am excited to be FINALLY writing about some Disney things, but I'm sad to be back from Florida. We flew back into a snowstorm, so that was a post-vacation buzzkill for sure. It was our first time back to Walt Disney World since 2019, and no matter how long we stay, it never feels like enough time. We were celebrating my mom's birthday, so I let her pick the resort for this stay. No matter how much I push the deluxe resorts, they are just not her personality so her request was to say at Port Orleans French Quarter. This is classified as a moderate resort and I've heard it's very underrated. In fact, we came across many cast members and people around the parks that told us it is one of their favorite resorts. We also found out about two weeks before our vacation that they do a Mardi Gras celebration for Fat Tuesday that we weren't aware of. It was a happy accident and we were looking forward to seeing what all t
